Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has renewed his contract with the La Liga club. According to the revelation of Fabrizio Romano, a highly credible journalist.
The French star has been outstanding in the previous three seasons. He has scored more than 20 goals in the league every season, while in the first leg of the current season he has scored twice, although in 2017-18 he had scored just five in 32 appearances.
Previously, Benzema’s future was full of uncertainty. After his contract with the team until the middle of next year only, but recently Romano revealed that the 33-year-old has signed a new contract with the team. It will be effective until June 2023, with an official announcement coming soon.
If this news is true, it would mean that Madrid have successfully renewed their contracts again this summer. After previously being able to extend the contracts of both Thibaut Courtois and Daniel Carvajal.
Benzema has been with Real Madrid for 12 years in all, scoring 194 goals in 384 La Liga appearances.
Last season was his best goalscoring season yet with 30 goals across all competitions, and he already has two in the current campaign.
